Lazlo's Corner

Okay, I got ahead of myself when I said last week I hope to be able to give you more info on this year's Banding Together webathon for the Spondylitis Association Of America then is below this week.

But, expect a rare mid-week e-mail with more info.

In the meantime, two quick things I want to cover this week.

Mail in ballots have started here in New Jersey (and probably in other states too). I just mailed my in, and in case I have not made my political views abundantly clear to everyone...

I VOTED FOR KAMALA HARRIS, AND I URGE YOU TOO ALSO!

That's all I need to say about that.

Now for something music related.

This doesn't seem to be getting much attention here in America (I suspect it is getting more attention in Canada), but there is an incredible 4 part documentary about The Tragically Hip on Amazon Prime. "The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal" is directed by lead singer Gord Downie's brother, and gets into things I think only someone close to the band would be able to. Whether you are a fan of the band, or have no idea who they are (in which case you should check out their music also, as they are awesome), this documentary showcases so much of the ups and downs of being in a band for over 30 years.

Below is the first information about this year's Banding Together benefit webathon for the Spondylitis Association Of America, airing on BlowUpRadio.com October 18th-20th.

I am so excited for the amazing lineup we have for you this year!

BlowUpRadio.com's 2024 Banding Together Webathon For The Spondylitis Association Of America Celebrates 17 Years With Annual Benefit This October

South Amboy, NJ - New Jersey internet radio station BlowUpRadio.com - Where NJ Rock Lives, announces its 17th annual Banding Together Webathon to benefit the Spondylitis Association Of America. Taking place Friday October 18th through Sunday October 20th on their internet radio station, over 30 acts from New Jersey and all over the globe will perform half hour performances, as they raise money to fund research and provide the programs and services to help the community suffering from this debilitating disease.

During Banding Together BlowUpRadio.com will have a link to a special donation page on the Spondylitis Association Of America's website. Every donation of $10 or more will get an exclusive download of this year's compilation featuring over 30 previously unreleased songs.

Spondylitis is a genetic rheumatoid arthritic condition that causes inflammation and fusion in the vertebrae of the spine. To date, BlowUpRadio.com has raised over ten thousand dollars for the cause, and raised awareness of the genetic disease, which the Centers For Disease Control says affects more than 2.7 million adults in the US.

"When I started doing the Banding Together benefits in 2007 after my wife was diagnosed with Spondylitis, I was amazed at the outpouring of support from musicians that wanted to help," says Lazlo, the founder of BlowUpRadio.com and the organizer of Banding Together. "Here we are now in our 17th year, and I am still overwhelmed by the positive support of musicians, and people who donate each year to help find a cure for this debilitating disease."
