Newsletter 12-13-10

Hey Everyone,

Wednesday December 15th, 2010 marks the actual 10th anniversary of BlowUpRadio.com.

I know, I know, we celebrated last month with 2 big shows, but that was because there are other holidays in December (yes, I do think BlowUpRadio.com’s anniversary should be celebrated as a holiday), and the other holidays seem to take precedence to most people.

It really is amazing to think how much the station and myself has changed over the course of the last ten years (hopefully both for the better).

This Wednesday night on Lazlo’s Den, join me in celebrating 10 years of BlowUpRadio.com. For the hour I plan to play New Jersey bands that I played on that very first day, as well as others from the first year of the station.

BlowUpRadio.com has come a long way since those simple beginnings. Heck, when I started on December 15th, there was no website. At the time the station was called Blow Up Radio Network, but a few weeks later (early January 2001), the humble beginnings of BlowUpRadio.com (the website) was born.

I am still working on new ideas for both the webcast and website, and as always, I would love to hear your ideas too.

Please feel free to e-mail me with your ideas, or if you see me out at a show, tell me in person.

Speaking of shows, let me take a moment to plug an annual cancer benefit concert taking place this Saturday night at Buddie’s Tavern. The annual Dogs Of War benefit (put together by legend of the NJ music scene, Mike Grau), always features more than 20 bands and raises money for a family that has a member dealing with cancer and having trouble paying bills. This is a worthy cause, and always one of my favorite concerts of the year, so I hope to see you there this Saturday.

Coming up next week: my top albums of 2010!
