Hey Everyone,

First off, apologies to anyone who has e-mailed me in the last week (or tried to find a new Lazlo’s Den last week). I had a bad case of bronchitis. New Lazlo’s Den shows begin airing tonight, and I am working through all my e-mails.

~~~
One bad e-mail I got this week is that this Saturday’s BlowUpRadio.com Free Concert Series show at Buddie’s Tavern has been cancelled by the venue. My apologies to all 3 bands that were on the bill, as well as those of you who look forward to these shows at Buddie’s Tavern. I am working to get all 3 bands onto a future BlowUpRadio.com, and we will return to Buddie’s Tavern for another show on Saturday March 21st with, Echofission, double-breasted, and Jonathan Andrew.
Now for the good news.
In an effort to make BlowUpRadio.com more diverse, I am proud to announce the addition of two new shows, with two new DJs, to BlowUpRadio.com’s webcast.
Tuesdays @ 10pm ET - Your Friends & Neighbors (hosted by Tris McCall)
Tris McCall is a cult writer and musician from Hudson County, New Jersey. He is most known for his confrontational pieces in Jersey Beat Magazine and for his indiepop albums, which focus primarily on the culture and politics surrounding his home state of New Jersey as well as his experiences in the Williamsburg music scene.
Tris describes “You Friends & Neighbors”:
"i'll be playing some of the stuff i've encountered while making music in new york & new jersey. it's just like a friends & neighbors column, but instead of me blathering about music, you get to actually hear the songs.
expect ten to twelve songs every week, some commentary by me, the occasional guest, and maybe even a live "in studio" performance. it will be as hee haw as i can get my living room to be."
Thursdays @ 10pm ET - Rock N Roll Has Station (hosted by Jim Testa)
Jim Testa - editor of Jersey Beat fanzine/webzine for over 20 years, brings you Rock N Roll Gas Station, presenting the best punk, pop, and indie from the past, present, and future.
~
“It has always been my intent with BlowUpRadio.com to have more diversity than just myself on the air. With Tris McCall and Jim Testa added to the station’s on-air staff, we not only add that diversity, but also the extensive music knowledge that both have.”
- Lazlo, owner BlowUpRadio.com
And now it’s time for the concert picks of the week
Lazlo (BlowUpRadio.com)
Friday at the Record Collector, The Dipsomaniacs celebrate the release of their new CD, "social crutch". The Dipsos have been making garage-pop-rock for longer than BlowUpRadio.com has been around. That's a long time for an indie band. They have also been one of my favorite live bands during that time. Go to the Record Collector Friday and see why.
Two picks this week. First takes place Friday night at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. It's the Electric Ballroom 10th Anniversary Party with a stellar lineup that includes the New York Dolls, Blue Scarlet Coop, Tuff Darts, and Frankenstein 3000. Then on Sunday, it's the opposite end of the spectrum with some of the area's best singer-songwriters taking part in Twisted Covers at the Twisted Tree Cafe (starting at 5pm). This month's spotlight is on the songs of James Taylor, Carly Simon, Jim Croce, and Harry Chapin. Lineup includes Joe D'Urso, Tony Tedesco, Arlon Bennett, Nik Everett, Joe Harvard, and many more.
That's all for this week folks.
Peace,
