Hey Everyone, This week I'm going to talk a bit about the Album of the Week. This week it is Upstage Magazine presents: come back to the Jersey shore. For the last year and a half Upstage Magazine has been publishing as a free monthly paper that really promotes the local music, film and arts scene. Alongside interviews with indie and up and coming bands touring through the area are plenty of interviews and reviews of local NJ bands. Upstage Magazine does a lot to support the local music, not only with their publication, but also with their website and their own internet radio stream (which will soon be bringing back the Lazlo's Den series that I put on hiatus a few months back). Now Upstage Magazine has put out their first compilation CD, containing 20 of the shore areas best artists. The money from the purchase of the CD will help ensure that Upstage Magazine can keep it's publication going, and be able to continue providing great local music coverage each month at no cost to the reader. So tune in to BlowUpRadio.com this week to hear all the tracks from the CD, and if you like what you hear, and you like Upstage Magazine (and if you are a fan of local music, why wouldn't you?), purchase a copy of the CD and help keep Upstage Magazine alive. Sometimes you need to take the time to plug someone else who is helping the scene. Because when it comes right down it, the local music scene and all it's various bands, venues, publications, websites and regular fans who I see all over the place, we're one big family...at least that's the way I see it. Peace, Lazlo |
