Hey Everyone, This Saturday is a big BlowUpRadio.com show. Not only is May 7th this month's Folk You! show at SICA (Shore Institute of Contemporary Artists), but it is also the CD release party for BlowUpRadio.com Live CD. That's right, this Saturday at 8pm at SICA, you can check out 4 great acoustic performances, AND get a FREE copy of the brand new BlowUpRadio.com Live CD. And check out the great line-up for Folk You! this month: Ken Shane is more than a singer/songwriter, he's a storyteller. His album, "South Ridgeway Avenue", is described as being, "From deep in the heart of Jersey", and that it, "describe(s) one person's journey, encompassing memory, loss, and redemption." Jon Dacks () Jon Dacks, frontman for the band Dacks, writes acoustic based music full of hooks and emotion. He reveals his own experiences and beliefs while speaking through the many different characters in his songs. "I pick up my guitar, close my eyes and my imagination is the key that unlocks the door…when I step through one door, another opens." Alana Q & Mike Random () Alana Q & Mike Random are one half of Six To Eight MaThematics. In a rare acoustic appearance (as Three To Four Mathematics?), they will strip down their brand of, "rock and roll with a twist of power pop", to the acoustic roots of their songs. Bobby Strange's website describes him as a, "cornerstone of the Jersey Shore's music scene." It would be hard to argue that. Bobby has played with a whole slew of bands before deciding to focus more on a singer-sonwriter, stripped down sound. The change in focus has led to rave reviews describing his music as, "songs (that) go right to the core, with their raw gut honesty, and real feel." This is going to an incredible night! Come on down to SICA (20 Third Ave in Long Branch) this Saturday night at 8pm for an All Ages FREE show, and don't forget to grab your copy of the new BlowUpRadio.com Live CD. Coincidentally, you can hear all the songs on the BlowUpRadio.com Live CD on our webcast all this week, as it is our Album of the Week. An independent artist can now get worldwide distribution of recorded material without the help of TV or a major record label. But an exciting new turn stands to challenge even the most engaging of reality shows – the ability to broadcast live over the Internet while attaining real-time feedback. Singer/songwriter Jason Didner...(more) |
