Hey Everyone, I need to start off this week by thanking everyone who was involved with and attended the Banding Together ~ Tsunami Benefit for Save The Children. That includes all the performers: Mike Grau Tony Tedesco Frankie McGrath (Maybe Pete) Mark Linskey (Hudson Falcons) Paul Crane (Bastards Of Melody) Colie Brice Zigman Bird Roots Rock Rebel THE MARBLES as well as special guests Defenestrate Time Mary Beth Seacott (who made up the ad for the show and the program given out at the show) my fiancee, Naomi (who worked the door at the event for the entire day and night) And the entire staff of the Berkeley Carteret Hotel, especially Bill behind the bar. The room was fantastic and the staff was an absolute pleasure. We'll be doing another show there really soon...I'm thinking May 22nd...but more on that soon. What was truly beautiful about Banding Toegther was that we raised a lot of money for Save The Children's Tsunami relief, and heard a lot of great music too! And there's more great live music to be heard this Wednesday... Folk You! returns to Hoboken! That's right folks, 2 years ago we did our first Folk You! show in Hoboken at the Rodeo Ristra, and not only was Jim Testa a part of the show, but he even came up with the name Folk You! So it's only appropriate that as we make the big return to Hoboken to a new place for BlowUpRadio.com, The Goldhawk, that we co-sponsor the show with Jersey Beat. here's all the info:
The show is FREE, and there's even a validated parking lot nearby. The weather is getting nicer, so you have no excuse not to come out for what's going to be an incredible night of music. Peace, Lazlo |

INTERACTIVE SONGWRITING SHOW, WITH AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION GALORE In the last ten years, we’ve seen the Internet give traditional entertainment companies a run for their money. An independent artist can now get worldwide distribution of recorded material without the help of TV or a major record label. But an exciting new turn stands to challenge even the most engaging of reality shows – the ability to broadcast live over the Internet while attaining real-time feedback. Singer/songwriter Jason Didner...(more) |

Testa A few years ago, my pick for the most promising local band was NYC's Miracle of 86. The group disbanded shortly thereafter (just my luck) but happily, its lineup produced two of the area's best singer/songwriters: Kevin Devine, who's about to release his third solo CD, and Mason-Dixon, featuring the songwriting, guitar...(more) |
