BlowUpRadio.com presents Folk You!

Message From Lazlo

Wow! Who knew so many people would come out to congratulate Naomi and I on getting engaged. Thank you all for your kind words on our personal announcement :)

I have another announcement to make this week, but this one is not of a personal nature...well maybe it is, as the local music scene is something else I hold dear to my heart.

One month ago I invited some local musicians and local media people over to BlowUpRadio.com's headquarters. We discussed ways to make the scene better, more cohesive & unified, ways to get the word out to those who already love local music and to those who may love local music but don't know of the scene. We wanted to do something for everyone in the scene, but realized that we can't think that big (yet), and so we have decided to have the first (of hopefully many) festival shows to shine light onto the scene and some of the many great bands in it.

The NJ Indie Music Fest will take place Saturday October 23rd at Centro Night Club, 2080 Route 35, South Amboy, NJ.
The show will start at 6pm and run until 2am.

There will be performances from:
Spiraling
Souls' Release The Marbles Fairmont
John Taglieri Bastards of Melody Bongo Jones

In Addition, the show will be a benefit for Jersey Jams Fund, a very good cause, and will be co-hosted by Jersey Jam's founder, Bob Makin, along with long-time local music troubadour, Al Muzer.

But wait, there's still more...

Spinning local tunes between bands' sets will, Jared Migden from WRSU and myself.

There will be some other big news in the coming weeks on this show, but suffice it to say, mark your calendars and come out and support this scene unifying event! A lot of hard work is being put into making this show work and if the support is there from the scene, it will succeed and we will work even harder to do more NJ Indie Music Fests.

You can get more information on the show at www.njimf.com.

And if you'd like to get involved with helping to promote the show, and before I get bombarded with e-mails, the line-up is finalized and no other bands can be added, but if you'd like to help promote the show, please drop me a line at Lazlo@BlowUpRadio.com.

Peace,
Lazlo
