2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO
So let me quickly use this space as a place to vent (anyone not wanting to read my short rant, skip to the next paragraph). If anyone involved with the Warped Tour in Asbury Park reads this, STOP OVERSELLING THE SHOW!!! There is not enough space for the amount of bodies crammed in there, and it's pissed me off enough that I may not go back anymore.
End of rant.
On to more interesting NJ based stuff...So I have been talking to a lot of musicians and scene people about the Asbury Music Awards (and award shows & battle of the bands in general). While in theory we all seem to agree that it's nice to get the award or win the contest or what not, what we all se happening is this causing more competition and fans bad mouthing another band just because they are up against a band they love in a category. This isn't the way the scene should work. I've been talking to some people about maybe having a NJ Indie Music conference or something for bands to get together and get to know one other, trade shows, and just have good time coming together as a scene. Having a more unified scene only helps us all. Anyway, as fans and musicians are on this list, I am curious of your thoughts and opinions. Feel free to post them at blowupradio.com's message board or e-mail me directly if you prefer at lazlo@blowupradio.com.
Ok, that's all for this week folks. Make sure you come out to the big blowupradio.com show this Friday night at the Broadway Central Cafe (South Amboy). The show begins at 9 sharp and has some great local music for you to catch.
