2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO
Hi everybody! So is everyone in the party mode with the 4th of July holiday this week? I can say one thing, everyone that was at Maxwell's last Friday was part of a big party. A great night of rock and roll, and fun was had by all. Thanks to PLANET JANET, HERO PATTERN (who can now get a sign that says, "1 show at Maxwell's without an accident" ;) just kidding guys), double-breasted, and DAVE MURPHY, as well as Artist Amplification for setting up this amazing night of music.
As you can see above, there are a couple more blowupradio.com sponsored shows on the horizon. They should be incredible shows, so don't miss them!
Now on to the bad news. Many people have been asking me lately about how Congress' ruling on the new royalty rates will affect blowupradio.com. I am happy to report that for the time being Live365 (which hosts blowupradio.com's webcast), will remain on-line and continue to host our webcast, but a new monthly fee has been added to offset the additional royalties that Live365 has to pay as a result of the Librarian of Congress's recent (June 20th) decision. You can read all about this decision here and here.
Blowupradio.com has always been a non-profit website/internet station, and will continue to do so. Of course this means that all expenses have come out of my pocket, and as these expenses get greater, it may cause a financial burden on myself. This is why I am considering throwing a benefit show (or several benefit shows), in order to raise money to cover blowupradio.com's operating costs. Rest assured that any money made from these proposed concerts will go directly into keeping blowupradio.com on the air and running smoothly (and I will not keep a penny for myself). I hope everyone understands. Anyway, I will be looking for possible venues for these benefit shows soon, and let you know as it develops.
Everyone have a happy and safe 4th of July. Go check out a local live show and keep listening to blowupradio.com ~ where NJ rock lives!
