2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO
So I'm a day late in getting this out again. Sorry folks. My life has been getting busier daily, and as much as I enjoy doing blowupradio.com, sometimes as basically a one man operation it's hard for me to do it all. But I do my best with this hobby that has taken on a life of it's own, and the fact that I get e-mails asking where the Newsletter is when it's a day late, makes me try that much harder to get this out on time.
This week I put a special hour or so block of music into the webcast spotlighting the women of NJ's rock scene. Listening to any rock radio station in the Tri-State area, it's amazing how few female musicians actually get radio play. You can listen to a top rated NYC rock station like KROCK for days without hearing a female singer. What's the deal with that?!?! Well, at blowupradio.com, we always try to play an equal amount of female rock & roll to compliment the male dominated rock & roll, and this week I decided it was high time to spotlight a bunch of NJ based female rockers by giving them a whole block in the webcast. Maybe we can start a trend and get mainstream rock radio to wake up and realize that women rock!
Ok, I'l step down from my soapbox now :)
Looking ahead, keep July 11th open on your calendar. A big blowupradio.com sponsored concert will be going down at Tierney's Tavern in Montclair. More info on that in the weeks to come, but suffice it to say the lineup looks incredible for the show and you will not want to miss it.
