2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO
So there is beautiful sunny skies and plenty of great NJ rock & roll to see, but the question I hear a lot lately is, "what happened to Artist Amp Live and @ the Show?"
Well, here's what's happening. I have recorded plenty of great local bands for these shows, but it has become very time consuming to convert the shows from minidisc to a high-grade MP3 format, and then I have to burn a CD copy of the show for the band to listen to to get final approval to webcast the show. In same cases I am several months behind in converting shows, and I apologize for that, but I am slowly but surely getting new shows converted, and as soon as these shows are approved by the bands for webcast, both Artist Amp Live and @ the Show will return.
So fear not, because blowupradio.com is not only where NJ rock lives, but it is also where NJ rock is live (sorry, I rarely do the cheesy DJ cliches, so please excuse that one ;)
As for live local rock, if you haven't already planned to do so, try to hit at least one of the many benefit shows (the first one actually happend at the Broadway Central Cafe last night), for the Aquarian's own Al Muzer. Al Muzer has been writing about local bands and the local music scene for as long as I can remember, and he was the first person anywhere to write anything about blowupradio.com. As you probably have heard, Al suffered a heart attack a few months ago, and while he is doing fine now, he has amassed a number of bills from the ordeal. So go out to at least one of the benefit shows (the next is this Saturday at Bar-A), see a lot of cool bands and help a guy who has helped the scene in numerous ways.
