Ah...it's good to be alive. I had some sort of virus (no not anthrax) this weekend, which kept me bed ridden for the last few days, and it feels good to be out of bed. That is the one good thing about being sick, the feeling of being almost reborn when you finally start to feel better.
The bad thing however, was that I missed a show I was really looking forward to. I had planned to review the big show at Cafe Bar that went down on Friday with Slushpuppy opening up for VH1's"Band on the Run" alumni, Harlow. I am sure the show was great and hope our contest ticket winner, Matt from Newark, enjoyed the show.
So, in light of reviewing that show, I'm going to mention a cool CD and upcoming show. The Dipsomaniacs sent me their latest CD, "the life you're faking", and what a great CD it is. Their last CD, "Undertow", had such memorable songs as "krackow" and "graduation" (among several other songs heard on blowupradio.com), and their new CD has even more memorable garage pop songs with catchy choruses and harmonies as solid as any classic Beach Boys track. You can already hear "more than a machine" and "Tina's good at everything" on blowupradio.com, but I suggest you go see the Dipsomaniacs live this Friday at Trenton's newest club, Conduit. Also appearing will be the Alice Project and the Commons. Supprot the local scene and a great new venue.
Speaking of cool concerts, next week I should be able to release the information about blowupradio.com's anniversary bash! Keep Saturday, December 15th available. You won't want to miss this party.
